Why are your pacakges always so torn up?? It looks like the pacakges were put threw a grinder as the boxes are all broken up., I don't even know if the pieces inside are complete as there are holes everywhenre and the lids are not even taped together.

I wonder the same thing sometimes. Goodness gracious, these arrived in rough condition. Have you had a chance to check and make sure everything is still there?

by:

Finally a boat winch with some muscle! I replaced the factory strap with a 10000# lifting sling.

by:

The well made product was received as expected but the package arrived with parts sticking out of the box. The product was in the manufactures thin walled cardboard box wrapped in clear shipping tape. A product of this weight and expense should be double boxes to the customer. Other than the shipping issue, the whole process of buying from this company was excellent and working with several people of the organization was very complete. Everyone I spoke with was professional and very helpful. I would recommend etrailer to anyone interested...Thank you.

by:

When I received the package it was marked damaged by the postal system. The crank & nut that holds it on are missing. There was a hole ripped in box & I believe it fell out somewhere. I have enclosed pictures

Oh my goodness, that box has been through a lot! I am so sorry it arrived like this. I see that our customer service team is working on getting you squared away. Thank you for letting us know about this!

by:

Great winch. Strongly made it worked great for my 260 Sea Ray on a roller trailer. I first bought a cheap winch from Amazon. The gears stripped right off. Don't be fooled, the picture of the winch on Amazon looks just like this one but it has a suspiciously low price. This winch is bigger, stronger and every piece of it is better made than the cheap ones from Amazon. Definitely worth the cost.

by:

I am using the four winches I bought in a gantry system to lift a classic wooden boat and roll it over to restore the bottom; and they work as I had hoped! Perfect for what I needed

by:

It fell apart the second time I tried to pull the boat on the trailer and parts fell into the lake so I had to go to the hardware store to gerry rig it to make it work, I have to slip a bolt behind the break lever every time I use it

by:

Thank you for sending replacement winch that lost in transit.

by:

Perfect fit, easy install

by:

I replaced my electric winch that came on the boat. I like the manual winches because you can see the gears and easy maintenance. This winch pulls up my 24' North River boat onto the trailer fully loaded with fuel and gear with no issues. Great winch. The only down side is that it ships in the shelf box, luckily nothing was damaged by the time it arrived in Alaska.

by:

Much heavier than what was on the trailer. Havent had it in the water yet to use but have moved it around. Seems like a good addition. Easy install.

Great. Sold the Chapparral and bought a Nitro. Moved the winch to the Nitro trailer. Its much stronger than the OEM. This was a good purchase.

by:

Great winch! The dual speeds is a game changer, the large gear quickly takes up the strap slack and starts it on the trailer. The small gear effortlessly pulls it up to the wench. If you have a heavier boat or one you load up with weight, you won't be disappointed with this wench.

by:

Easiest order for trailer parts I have ever had. East to order and track delivery! On time no damage to the box!

by:

I purchased this winch a year ago. It has worked flawlessly and easily pulls my 20Ft center console onto the trailer with no problem. My only complaint would be some minor surface rust on one of the bolts. I guess that is to be expected in a saltwater environment. Overall a good purchase.

by:

Outstanding customer service. Excellent product. Will definitely use etrailer again.

Product works great. Did have to replace a bolt that bent. Other than that no issues

7/26/2023

Can you clarify which bolt it was that bent?

by:

Product is as described and heavy duty! Service was great!

by:

Works great on my 23 foot boat. Was easy to install. I like it a lot better than the winch that came with the boat trailer.

by:

Order was acknowledged and shipped in less than two hours! Was shipped in a box within a box with paper around the inside box, no shipping damage or missing parts. Dropped right on and bolted right up through existing holes. Five minutes and I’m ready to go. Did not come with bolting hardware but no big deal just reused the existing.

by:

Great looking Harvey duty trailer winch
Can’t
wait to install and get rid of the old rusty winch

by:

Like the winch it’s exactly like they advertised. It mounted to the same bolt pattern as the smaller winch it replaced making the installation very easy. Etrailer made the whole process easy would deal with them again.

by:

I have ordered several items from this company but never had this experience. I ordered the product in April it wasn’t until 5/3 I was told the product was lost in shipping. I wanted to cancel the order right then and reordered it but their policy is I had to wait 14 days. I waited. Then on may 22 they said it would be reshaped. Finally it arrived 5/26 after two months. Seems to be a better idea just to pay more and buy locally

by:

This thing is super heavy duty and well built. I decided to upgrade from the cheap winch that was on my boat trailer when I bought it, and I'm glad I did. This is a beast in comparison.

by:

The winch is fantastic. Excellent value for the price. Only complaint is that it was shipped in its original box instead of being packed in a sturdier shipping box. The box was broken open when I received it but the winch was not damaged or missing any parts.

by:

Came damaged. Not only that but I ordered a different part and the people at etrailer so kindly offered to send me a different part that they could ship sooner. It finally arrives, it is literally delivered with the original packaging torn up and place in the shipping box next to the winch. The brake lever is bent making the whole thing useless.

I am sorry to hear that this winch arrived damaged after having to switch to it from the original order. This is not how we expect to have it arrive to you. I will have our customer service team reach out to you.

Installed quickly, high quality and quick delivery.
I mistakenly ordered the wrong winch and Helen corrected my mistake and got me what I needed!

  • Can Strap from Jif Marine Winch Come From Bottom of Drum
Yes, the strap on the # 315-W3200D can be installed so that it comes from the bottom instead of the top. However, doing so will reverse the switch and the direction you turn the handle for operation. The self-locking mechanism will work either way. The orientation you are describing with the drum facing the boat is how the winch is typically installed on a boat trailer.

  • Replacement Bunk Carpet, Winch, and Transom Tie Down for Boat Trailer
For a winch you will need to choose the right one based on the weight of your boat and the trailer setup. A common ratio for determining your winch load capacity is 2:1. For example, a 2,200-lb boat generally requires a 1,100-lb winch. If the same boat were winched a short distance with a low incline and with rollers in good condition, it can be safely winched with a 900-lb winch. The boat requires a winch with a 2,200-lb capacity if you are winching a longer distance with more resistance;...

  • Solutions for Fulton T3700 Winch with Broken Cable
The current version of your Fulton T3700 is the part # F142430 which is a cable-only winch like what you have. Best options I have would be a new cable for yours that is broke like with part # FWC7500100 for a 50 foot cable or to go with a new winch that uses a strap instead like the Jif Marine part # 315-W3200D which has a similar 3,200 lb capacity. Only downside to the straps is they aren't as long as the cables since the layers add up quicker. This comes with a 20 foot long strap.

  • Fulton T3205 Winch Replacement
Yes. The Jif Marine 2 Speed Trailer Winch # will work as a replacement for your old Fulton T3205 winch. It has the exact same 5.1:1 and 12.2:1 gear ratios as the T3205 and also comes with a 10" handle. I've attached a picture for reference to show some of the measurements-but this is a fairly universally mounted winch. The long holes on the bottom are 1" long and 1/2" from the edges of the plate; the center hole is 2-3/8" from the edge (center of the hole); the long hole at the top running...

  • Boat Trailer Winch to Replace Old Shelby 5470A Winch
You have a Shelby winch. Shelby is no longer in business so that exact winch is no longer available. But there are many other winches you could use even if the capacity is not exactly the same. A 3,200 pound winch such as # F412425 is a great option. This winch was designed for marine applications, so it is an excellent boat winch. It comes with a strap which is naturally corrosion resistant. If you are looking for something a little more budget friendly the Jif Marine winch # 315-W3200D...

The 2-Speed Boat Trailer Winch part # 315-W3200D would be an excellent option to replace a Valley Industries 2-Speed 2,800 lb Winch. It will hold a slightly higher weight capacity at 3,200 lbs and retains the two speed operation. It also comes with an integrated strap and clevis hook so it's ready to go. You can always switch out for a cable if you wish but straps are better for boats. The winch does have a brake that self locks the crank while not in motion.

  • How To Determine Fit of the 3,200 Lb 2-Speed Boat Trailer Winch
The 2-Speed Boat Trailer Winch part # 315-W3200D is an excellent upgraded 3,200 lb winch for a boat trailer. In regards to mounting, not all winches use the same pattern so you'd need to compare the dimensions in the photo below to what you have now. I would not think any welding or cutting would be required but worse case you may need to drill a few holes.

  • Recommended Winch for a 3,500 lb Boat with Carpeted Bunk Boards
I spoke to the manufacturer Jif Marine, they informed me that the 2-Speed Boat Trailer Winch with 20' Strap part # 315-W2500D would not be sufficient for a 3,500 - 4,000 lb boat even with bunk boards. The bunk boards are certainly going to help but wont do as much as a set of rollers will like part # DL21741 in regards to reducing the size of winch needed to pull the boat in. It comes with a strap as well so no need to install one.

In addition the polyester strap will hold up better than a cable for a marine application, not to mention the additional safety that should the strap snap, it would not be nearly as dangerous as a cable flying around.
